Terms of Service

MakerWizard is operated by a limited liability company (s.r.o.) established under the laws of the Slovak Republic. Its business name, registered office, identification number and entry in the Commercial Register will be published here before MakerWizard accepts any payment. Until then no paid plan or pack is offered for sale, and you can reach the operator at support@makerwizard.com.

In these terms “MakerWizard”, “we” and “us” mean that operator; “you” means the person using the service. By using MakerWizard you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.

MakerWizard is an online tool that prepares files for laser cutters and engravers and for cutting machines: it draws or traces a design, separates it into cut, score and engrave layers, sets its size in millimetres, checks it for fabrication problems and exports it (SVG, LightBurn .lbrn2, DXF, PNG). It also plans products made of parts that slot together, lays out lists of names on blanks, places product photos into scenes, and offers free browser tools.

The service is under active development. We may add, change or remove features. Section 12 says what happens if a change affects something you paid for.

• You can use the free tools and try the workspace without an account. Work made as a guest is kept for 48 hours and then deleted with its files, unless you create an account, which keeps it. A guest may make 2 AI drawings; a new account receives 3 more, free.
• You must be at least 16 years old to create an account, and at least 18, or have your parent's or guardian's consent, to buy anything.
• Give a real email address, keep your sign-in details to yourself, and tell us at support@makerwizard.com if you think someone else has used your account. You are responsible for what is done with it.
• The free allowances are for trying the service. Creating accounts in bulk or by script to collect them is not allowed.

Most of MakerWizard is free: the free tools, tracing an image, the editor's exports, previews of products, the file check, and names on blanks up to 3 names. Some actions are paid. They are counted in exports, the unit you buy.

• The price of an action, in exports, is printed on its button before you press it. Nothing is charged without such a button.
• An export is spent when you start the action. If a drawing or a photo then fails, or you cancel it before the drawing model was called, the export is returned to your balance automatically.
• Downloading a design you already paid for again, or in another format, is not charged a second time.
• Exports have no expiry date while your account exists. They cannot be transferred to another account and have no cash value, except for the refunds described in sections 6, 12 and 15.
• Free allowances (guest, welcome) are gifts: they are not refundable and may change for new users.

• You buy exports as a one-time pack or through a monthly plan. The current packs, the plan and their prices are on the pricing section and in your account.
• Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Prices are in US dollars. The amount you pay is the total shown at checkout before you confirm, including any value added tax that applies to your purchase.
• The contract for a purchase is concluded when you confirm the payment at checkout. You receive a receipt by email, and the exports appear in your account, usually within seconds.
• A plan renews every month and adds that month's exports to your balance; unused ones carry over. You can cancel at any time with effect from the end of the paid month: write to support@makerwizard.com from your account's address and we cancel it no later than the next working day. Exports already added stay yours.

If you buy as a consumer, you may withdraw from the purchase of a pack or a plan within 14 days of the purchase without giving a reason.

• To withdraw, tell us clearly before the 14 days end, for example by email to support@makerwizard.com. You may use the form at the end of these terms; you do not have to.
• Spending an export starts the service you paid for. By spending exports within the 14 days you ask us to begin before the withdrawal period is over. If you then withdraw, we refund the price of the exports you have not spent; the ones you spent were delivered at your request, and you pay for them in proportion to the price of the whole purchase.
• We send the refund within 14 days of your notice, by the payment method you used, at no cost to you.

This section does not limit any right the law gives you anyway.

What you upload stays yours. You confirm that you have the right to upload it, and, for a photo of a person, that person's permission. You give us permission to store it, process it, send it to the services that draw, trace or edit it for you (listed in the Privacy Policy) and show the result back to you. That permission is only for running MakerWizard for you and ends when the content is deleted.

What you make is yours. As between you and us, the files MakerWizard produces for you belong to you; any right we might have in them is assigned to you. You may use them for any lawful purpose, including products you sell, with no credit to us and no fee beyond the exports you spent.

Three honest limits:

• We cannot promise a result is unique. Another maker who types a similar sentence may get a similar drawing.
• In some countries a drawing made by an AI model is not protected by copyright, or only partly. We cannot give you more rights in a file than the law lets anyone have.
• A design can still infringe someone else's rights, for example if you asked for a famous character or a brand. That is your responsibility: see the Trademark Policy and the Copyright and Takedown Policy.

The lettering in names, products and the editor comes from fonts published under the SIL Open Font License and is converted to outlines; you may use the results commercially.

Nothing is shared unless you press “Share on Explore”. If you do, the design, its check result and your first name become public. You then give every visitor a free, worldwide, non-exclusive permission to view, download and use that design, including commercially, and give us permission to display it on MakerWizard. You can stop sharing at any time; the design leaves Explore, but copies other people have already downloaded cannot be recalled. Share only what you have the right to share.

You agree not to use MakerWizard to:

• make or share content that is illegal, sexually exploits or endangers minors, is sexually explicit, glorifies violence, or promotes hatred;
• infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, design, privacy or likeness, make counterfeit goods, or pretend to be a brand or a person;
• upload a photo of a person without their permission;
• attack, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service, get round limits or prices, or resell access to it;
• upload malware or files built to break an importer.

How we moderate. An automated filter refuses some briefs before anything is charged. It looks for the kinds of content in the first bullet; it does not check trademarks or copyrights. We act on shared content when we are told about it or notice it ourselves: we may remove a design from Explore, remove content, or suspend an account, in proportion to what happened. When we restrict your content or your account we tell you why by email, and you can object at legal@makerwizard.com; a person reads it.

Reporting. Anyone can report content they believe is illegal, with its address and the reason, to legal@makerwizard.com. This address is also our single point of contact for authorities and users under the EU Digital Services Act; you can write in English or Slovak.

MakerWizard makes files. It does not operate your machine, and it has never seen your machine, your material or your workshop.

• Power, speed, passes and kerf values are starting points taken from published tables or estimated from them, and marked as such. Burn a small test on the same material before the real piece.
• The file check finds common problems; it cannot guarantee that a piece will survive cutting, fit another part, or suit its purpose. Measure one known dimension after importing a file.
• A laser can start a fire and injure eyes and skin. Some materials release toxic or corrosive fumes when lasered, PVC and other chlorinated plastics among them. Follow your machine's manual, use extraction and eye protection, know your material, and never leave a running machine unattended.
• Things you make for other people, for children, for food or for load-bearing use must meet the rules that apply to such products. That is the maker's responsibility.

The MakerWizard software, site, name and logo belong to us. These terms give you the right to use the service, not to copy it. The sample files offered for download and the output of the free tools may be used freely, including commercially.

We try to keep MakerWizard available and working, and we do not promise that it always will be: it depends on other providers, and we maintain and change it. If we permanently remove something in a way that leaves paid exports you cannot reasonably use, or if we close the service, we refund the exports you bought and have not spent.

If what you paid for is defective, for example a file that does not match its preview or will not open in the software it was exported for, write to support@makerwizard.com with what happened. We put it right, by fixing it, returning the export or refunding it, within a reasonable time and no later than 30 days. Your statutory rights for defective digital content and services under the Slovak Civil Code and the consumer law of your country are not affected by these terms.

• Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or injury, or any liability that the law does not allow to be limited; and nothing takes away rights a consumer has by law.
• Beyond that, we are not liable for damage caused by operating a machine, by a material, by settings used without testing, or by content you chose to make, upload or share.
• If you use MakerWizard for a business, our total liability to you in any twelve months is limited to what you paid us in those twelve months, and we are not liable for lost profit or lost business.
• If someone brings a claim against us because of content you made, uploaded or shared in breach of these terms, you compensate us for the damage that results, to the extent you are responsible for it.

• You can delete your account at any time under Account, Security. That deletes your profile, your history, your designs and your stored files. Exports left on a deleted account are lost, so withdraw first if section 6 applies.
• We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms. If we close an account for any other reason, we refund the exports you bought and have not spent.

We may change these terms when the service, the prices or the law change. We post the new version here with its date, and if the change matters to you we email account holders at least 15 days before it applies. If you do not agree, you can close your account before that date and we refund the exports you bought and have not spent. A purchase is governed by the terms in force when it was made.

• These terms are governed by the law of the Slovak Republic. If you are a consumer living in another country of the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of that country.
• Disputes belong before the courts of the Slovak Republic; a consumer may also sue, and may only be sued, in the country where they live.
• If you are a consumer and we did not resolve your complaint, you may turn to an alternative dispute resolution body under Slovak Act No. 391/2015, for example the Slovak Trade Inspection (Slovenská obchodná inšpekcia, soi.sk), which is also the authority that supervises us. It is free for consumers.
• If a part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest stays in force.
