Most personalised orders are the same object with a different name on it: cut the blank once, engrave the name many times. The hole sits where a ring or a ribbon actually fits, never closer than 1.5 mm to the edge, and the corners are rounded enough to survive a pocket.
Questions makers ask
What hole size fits a keychain ring?
A 4 mm hole fits standard split rings, jump rings and ball chains. Use 5 mm for ribbon, twine or leather cord. Keep at least 1.5 mm of material between the hole and the edge; this generator refuses to place it closer.
Which software opens the file?
The download is a plain SVG with its width and height in millimetres and a matching viewBox, so xTool Studio (XCS), LightBurn, Glowforge, Inkscape and Illustrator open it at the size you typed. The outline is a red hairline, the usual colour for a cut layer.
Why does my SVG usually import at the wrong size?
An SVG without physical units leaves the software to guess 72 or 96 DPI, and a 60 mm keychain arrives at 45 or 80 mm. These blanks state millimetres explicitly, so there is nothing to guess.
How big is a laser-cut coaster or ornament?
Coasters are typically 90–100 mm across; the hexagon here defaults to 100 × 87 mm. Tree ornaments are usually 70–90 mm; the disc defaults to 80 mm with a 4 mm hole at the top.
Can I cut a whole sheet of blanks at once?
Yes. Set the number of copies and the gap, and the file holds a row of identical blanks. A 3 mm gap is enough for most diode and CO2 lasers.
How do I put names on the blanks?
Open the blank in the editor and use the text tool, or use Names on blanks: paste a list of names and get one sheet with every piece, cut outline and engraved name together.
