MakerWizard is built in the open by one maker. This is what changed and when, newest first.
NewTerms, privacy and the rest of the paperwork
Five legal documents written from what the app actually does, a contact page, and this changelog. Deleting your account now also deletes the files stored for you, not only the rows in the database.
NewA real home page
The composer is the first thing on it: describe something or drop a picture and get a checked result without signing in. Under it, real files with the laser running over them, the check failing and passing on one ornament, a file opened up layer by layer, and the settings lookup for your own machine.
NewOur own 404, and the app is installable
A page that does not exist now says so on plywood instead of showing the framework's white screen. MakerWizard can also be installed to a home screen or a dock, and opens straight into the workspace.
BetterThe free tools look like the rest of the product
Kerf, blanks, halftone, depth map and names on blanks were rebuilt on the same composer: settings as cards, one action with its price on it. Each one now also has a page that explains the job, with real reference tables.
NewThe editor draws and edits points
A pen tool for corners and curves, points you can move, add, delete and switch between corner and smooth, and a library of twenty-eight ready shapes with real blank sizes and their holes.
NewTrace a picture straight onto the sheet
Drop a photo into the editor and it becomes shapes on the sheet, at a starting width that asks to be confirmed. Engraving also has shades now: an engraved shape can burn at anything from 10 to 100 % of the engrave power, and each shade leaves as its own layer.
NewThe editor opens on its own
No sidebar, no top bar: the whole window is the sheet, with an arrow back to the workspace. Machine and material now bring starting power, speed and passes with them, each marked published or estimated, and your own tested numbers replace them.
BetterYour account, rebuilt
Profile, exports with the price list, usage over thirty days with what each export went on, and security in one place: two-step sign-in, passkeys, password, and deleting the account.
FixedStraight edges stay straight
Our own outline fitting replaced the tracer's: a straight edge becomes one line instead of a chain of wobbles, corners stay sharp, and node counts dropped.
NewA product from one sentence
Describe a stand, a name plate, a sign or a table number and get every part with tabs and slots sized to your sheet and your kerf, plus a fit-test strip to cut first. A photo becomes a cut-out panel that stands in a slotted base.
NewNames on blanks
Paste a list of names, pick a blank and a font, and get sheets with a cut outline and an engraved name for every piece, as SVG, as a LightBurn project, and as a listing mockup. Up to three names are free.
NewThe check that says whether it falls apart
Every design now carries a verdict: parts hanging on a neck thinner than a millimetre, pieces not joined to the body, outlines that do not close, details thinner than the beam. It runs before anything can be downloaded.
NewFree tools, no account
Kerf calculator, blank generator, halftone and depth map, all working in your browser: the pictures never leave your computer.
NewExplore, and work that survives signing up
Designs makers choose to share are on one wall. Work made without an account is kept for forty-eight hours and moves to the account when you create one.
NewFrom a sentence to a laser file
Type what you want, an image model draws it for a laser, the tracer turns it into paths, and the layers, the millimetres and the exports follow: SVG, LightBurn .lbrn2, DXF and PNG.
